GACE Health Education Exam Study Guide


Health education is the subject which deals with the importance of maintaining health and sanitation. Students studying health education should make their concepts and foundations crystal clear. Candidate should pass GACE Health Education Exam to get the certification. After getting this certification candidate gets permission to become an educator of Georgia State. This exam is conducted by Georgia Professional Standards Commission board to check the competency of the candidate. GACE Health Education Exam consists of two sub tests. Candidate needs to clear both the sub tests to get the certification.

Eligibility for GACE Health Education Exam


To appear for GACE Health Education Exam, candidate needs to fulfill the eligibility conditions issued by the board. First of all candidate should have bachelor degree and certification from state approved college. If the candidate possesses the above two document then he is liable to apply for renewable certification. If the candidate does not possess the certification however he/she is enrolled in it, then he is liable to apply for the non renewable certification. This type of certification is liable to expire after a given period.

Syllabus of GACE Health Education Exam


Syllabus of GACE Health Education Exam include following topics :-

  • Human growth and development
  • Functioning of body organs
  • Interpersonal body care and hygiene
  • Nutritional value for the body
  • Personal weight and health management
  • Preventing disease transmitted sexually
  • Family planning and parenting

The above mentioned topics are very important from examination point of view hence candidate should study it nicely to get good marks in the marks.

Format of GACE Health Education Exam


GACE Health Education Exam includes two individual sub tests. Both of these sub tests includes objective and subjective questions. Sub test I include topics like personal care and drug abuse. Sub test II includes topics of social relationship and health and safety of community. Each sub test includes 60 objective questions and 2 subjective questions.

Scoring of GACE Health Education Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks. 80% weightage is given to objective questions and 20% weightage is given to subjective questions. If the candidate falls short of the marks in the exam then candidate is liable to appear again after the period of 30 days.
