Florida Department of Education offers certification to the candidate in two phases:-
- Temporary certification- valid for three academic years
- Permanent certification- valid for five academic years

Candidate should keep in mind that professional certification is renewable after academic period. However candidate having temporary certification cannot apply for renewability. Temporary certification holders have to apply for the professional certification after the expiration of temporary certification.
Eligibility for FTCE English Exam
To appear for FTCE English Exam, candidate needs to fulfill all the eligibility conditions listed by the board. For temporary certification candidate needs to have bachelor degree and 2.5 GPA in the subject. For permanent certification candidate needs to have bachelor degree and specialization in English subject. For both the certification candidate needs to submit finger prints report to the board. Grant of certification is only possible when finger prints report is duly processed.
Format of FTCE English Exam
