To be eligible to appear for the exam, a candidate must fulfill the following conditions-

  • Must complete bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics.
  • Must complete bachelor's program from a recognized college/university.

The format of the exam has been designed is very simple and it covers-

  • MCQ or selected response-based exam with 120 questions.
  • The allotted time for the educators to complete the exam is 5 hours.
  • It is a computer-administered exam.
  • 4 hours and 45 minutes is the testing time and 15 minutes for the Compliance agreement & CAT Tutorial.

Passing Score and Exam fee for TExES Physics/Mathematics 7-12 (243) Exam


  • Candidates need to score 240 marks to qualify for the exam.
  • Scores for the exam are available at 10.00 pm Central time.
  • The exam fee is $116 (an additional fee may be applicable).

  • Candidates must bring their graphing calculators.
  • While registering for the exam, candidates must abide by all the rules and policies.
  • Exams can include questions that can be considered for evaluation in the future. It won't affect the candidate's existing score.
  • When the candidate receives testing confirmation, it will include a list of exam selected, exam date, testing center, and testing time.
  • Candidates are required to report 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
  • Candidates must bring two pieces of original ID- No photocopy or digital id printed in English in the name candidate has registered.
  • Acceptable forms for Government-issued identification include- Photo bearing driving license, passport, military identification, and state identification with a visible signature.
