NYSTCE Students with Disability Exam is administered and conducted by New York State Education Board to grant certification to eligible educators of the state. Candidate should prove his proficiency and competency in all the core subject and general education areas to get the certification. Candidates applying for this exam should be able to use variety of strategy and resources to evaluate students strength and needs. NYSTCE Students with Disability Exam is available in morning and afternoon sessions. Candidate can choose any of the timings according to the schedule available.

Eligibility for NYSTCE Students With Disabilities Exam


This certification is available in two phases initial and professional. Initial certification is an entry level certification, which is valid for the period of three years. After this period, candidate needs to apply for professional certification which is an advanced level certification. An eligibility criterion for this certification is candidate should have master degree from state or national certification. Candidate should also have three years of teaching experience in the field with permanent citizenship of United States.

Format of NYSTCE Students With Disabilities Exam


NYSTCE Students with Disability Exam includes 90 multiple choice questions and one subjective question. Evaluation of this exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. Candidate should manage the time well as candidate needs to solve 91 questions in four hours. Candidate should attempt maximum questions to score maximum marks in the exam.

  • Working in the professional environment 21% - family and community relationships of a disabled student, educator and other professional relationships of a disabled student, foundation of education for disabled students.

Single constructive response query is formed from the topic “promotion of student learning”, which holds 10% emphasis in the exam.
