The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) exam and the Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) Exam usually covers 5 areas. Evaluation of needs and priorities (25%), Developing intervention plans ( 21%), Implementing interventions (41%), Providing Occupational Therapy services for the occupational performance needs or the population, (6%), and Managing, promoting and organizing Occupational Therapy services (7%).
There are generally 200 multiple choice questions on this exam, with 30 questions, 'non-scored.' The non-scored questions are identical to the scored questions and you will not be able to tell the difference.
